दानवीर राजा बलि की राजधानी एवं महर्षि भृगु की तपोस्थली बलिया अनादिकाल से महापुरुषों की जन्मस्थली रही है। प्रथम स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के प्रथम बलिदानी मंगल पाण्डेय हों या अगस्त क्रान्ति में स्वतंत्र हुए बलिया जनपद के प्रथम जिलाधीश चित्तू पाण्डेय, लोकनायक जयप्रकाश नारायण हों या जननायक चन्द्रशेखर, बलिया की माटी से उपजे राष्ट्र नायकों की एक अविच्छिन्न परम्परा रही है। हम आपको इसी परम्परा की एक कड़ी के रूप में देखते हैं और भले ही आपकी कर्मस्थली कोई भी हो बलिया आपकी जन्मस्थली है, आप बलिया के महान विभूतियों में से एक हैं।

प्रत्येक व्यक्ति का अपनी मातृभूमि से विशेष लगाव होता है। वह हमेशा अपने बालपन की स्मृतियों को, अपने घर-गाँव की स्मृतियों को अपने हृदय में संजोये रखता है। वह बार-बार अपनी जन्मभूमि पर वापस लौटना, उसकी गोद में खेलना चाहता है, अपनी मातृभूमि के लिये अपना कर्तव्य निभाना चाहता है। हम इसी उद्देश्य से आपके साथ जुड़ना चाहते हैं।

Since time immemorial, Ballia, the great capital of bountiful King Bali and ascetic fervor place of the great devotee Lord Bhrigu, has been birthplace of great souls. Time and again, the fertile and revolutionary land has produced amazing legends and heroes who have sacrificed and contributed a lot in the shaping this great nation. We are proud of the tradition of having great leaders like Mangal Pandey (the first martyr of India’s first struggle for freedom), Chittu Pandey (the first district magistrate of August revolution of Ballia), Jaiprakash Narayan (well known as Loknaayak) and Chandrashekhar (famous as Jannayak and yuva turk). Further, we are the most delighted to acknowledge you as an inspiring exponent of this glorious tradition. It is true that your work place is elsewhere but we feel that you belong to the Ballia Diaspora.

Needless to say that everyone has special affinity towards her/his homeland and cherishes sweet memories forever. Village, family members, childhood friends and the aura in general have a special relevance in one’s life.
